Mitsubishi Japan again this year to upgrade its flagship all-terrain vehicles double cabin Triton and Pajero Sport through the country of Thailand. Triton and Pajero Sport obtain service on a machine with a new Turbo VG.

Actually the engine is still the same as the previous 2.5-liter 4D56 type with DI-D Hyper Common Rail diesel units, but with a variable geometry turbo will get power and greater torque. In Thailand, this new engine has been pinned on all types of type Pajero Sport and Triton Double Cab Plus GLS AT and Double Cab 4WD GLS-Limited either maual or automatic transmission.

The new engine capable of producing power VG Turbos 178 PS with torque of 350 Nm at rpm 1.800 to 3.500 rpm. Means there is a significant power increase from the previous engine (for Thailand market) which only has power PS/321 140 Nm.



To note market Misubishi Triton and Pajero Sport with a different specification for each country. In Indonesia and Malaysia, Triton and Pajero Sport 4D56 still using the old type of engine with a power 136 PS / 314 Nm.

The 2011 Chrysler 300.

This is the second 2011 Chrysler 300 the press fleet folks have sent our way in the past few months. I wrote about the first one for High Gear Medias Carnewser.com a couple of weeks back.  That first car came option-free...sporting a price tag $7590 less than the 2011 Dodge Charger reviewed here on TireKicker in late September.

The Carnewser.com piece focused on my trying (and failing) to understand why Chrysler, working to set itself apart as an upscale brand would build and sell such reasonably priced examples of their flagship, the 300.

Since then, though, word has come that Chryslers dropping the ax on the Dodge Grand Caravan. Come 2013, theyll only be selling the Chrysler Town and Country, setting off speculation that once Fiats, Alfa Romeos and Lancia-sourced Chryslers begin appearing in showrooms, the product mix between those brands, Dodge and Jeep may be very different from what we see now.

So lets assume a plan is in the works and assess the 300 on its own merits, absent percieved price crowding with its cousin, the Dodge Charger.

First of all, even in base form. the 2011 Chrysler 300 is drop-dead gorgeous. Its a completely different design from the last generation, relying on subtle cues to tie the two together. The details are superb and the effect sets the 300 apart as the only big American sedan of its kind.

The new Chrysler Pentastar V6 is a revelation...strong, smooth and economical. Even with a five-speed automatic (an 8-speed is on tap for 2012), the EPA says 18 city, 27 highway, and we saw a rock-steady 20 miles per gallon in a week of nothing but city streets.

Like example number one, this 300 was the base model, with a base price of $27,170. Unlike the first car, this one had options...but just two. $295 for Deep Cherry Red Crystal Pearl Coat exterior paint, and another $295 for Customer Preferred Package 27E...Chryslers Uconnect voice command with Bluetooth.

Fold that in with the standard equipment (4-wheel anti-lock disc brakes, stability and traction control, brake assist, hill start assist, all the airbags a car can hold, power locks, keyless entry and pushbutton start, 8-way power drivers seat, tilt and telescoping steering wheel, an AM/FM/Sirius/CD/mp3 audio system with 6 speakers and USB and auxilary connections, and dual-zone climate control and while you dont have the pinnacle in luxury, you do have a remarkably equipped, very quiet, comfortable and reasonably quick big sedan for $28,585 with destination charges.

Ive decided to stop worrying about why Chrysler offers this car for so little money. There are people who will be very glad they do.

Dislikes: Pairing and connecting phones with the Bluetooth system is a lengthy, hit-and-miss proposition.

Toyota has unveiled the Entune infotainment system at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas.

Toyota Entune will be available as an option on select models this year. The featured apps of Toyota Entune include: Bing, iheartradio, MovieTickets.com, OpenTable.com, and Pandora, as well as location-based services, such as personalized traffic, fuel prices, stocks, weather, and sports. A high quality JBL sound system is available as an option as well.

The Toyota Entune system features an iheartradio app, which provides users with over 750 hometown stations, XM satellite radio and HD radio. It also features USB connectivity and voice recognition, so the driver can keep his focus on the road ahead.

Entune can also read back text messages with its text-to-voice feature, and access your favorite Pandora radio stations, so its sure to draw the eyes of those looking to other carmakers for the same functionality back to Toyota.

Entune takes a different approach to in-car multimedia systems. Instead of duplicating many of the functions your smartphone can do, Toyota’s system is intricately tied to the device. Once you download the Entune application to your smartphone, you can use the interface on Toyota’s touch-screen display. The system is composed of multiple apps, Microsoft Bing search and a voice-recognition system that Toyota says is best in class.

The other weak point for the STS is that Cadillacs been planning its demise for a while...meaning not much has gone into upgrades the past few years...especially in the interior. Nothings seriously wrong, mind you...its just that it looks and feels a full generation behind what a 2011 luxury car should look and feel like.  And thats at the $47,280 price point. Start clicking the option boxes and you can get an STS past $60,000 without a lot of strain.

Gilles also promised more safety features than any domestic competitor. You may also notice the windshield is raked back even further, the windows are larger and Gilles hinted that the car may even be a bit lighter than the old model.

Inside, the interior is nicely-equipped with items such as dual-zone automatic climate control, Uconnect Touch, black comodo elm trim, and LED ambient lighting. If that isnt impressive enough, moving up to the 300C trim level adds Nappa leather upholstery, GPS navigation, olive ash trim, and heated / ventilated seats. Trim levels 300 Limited and 300C AWD are also available.

Upon introduction, the FWD I4 is equipped with a standard 2.7-liter, I4, 182-horsepower engine that achieves 21-mpg in the city and 27-mpg on the highway. The AWD V6 is equipped with a standard 3.5-liter, V6, 268-horsepower engine that achieves 18-mpg in the city and 25-mpg on the highway. A 6-speed automatic transmission with overdrive is standard on both trims. 
In total passenger volume, the Highlander trounces the Venza by more than 37 cubic feet. In cargo capacity, the Venzas Celtic-themed kin bests it by more than 10 cubic feet with the rear seats up, and by a substantial 25 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. Max towing capacity on the Highlander is also 1500 pounds greater than on the Venza, with a nearly identical powertrain. The key difference? The V-6 Highlander still soldiers on with a five-speed automatic, while the V-6 Venza gets a six-speed.The one, and increasingly important, area in which the Venza bests its larger sibling is fuel economy. The all-wheel-drive V-6 Highlander rates 17/22 on the EPA cycle, with the sleeker, 400-pound lighter Venza AWD returning 18/25. For those seeking even greater fuel economy, the Venza is also available with a 2.7-liter four-cylinder shared with the base Highlander that returns 21 city and 27 highway mpg on the front driver, and 20/25 on the all-wheel-drive model. Considering the minimal fuel economy penalty with the V-6, and the fact it offers 86 more horsepower, go with the six.
As with many current Toyotas, the driving experience isnt especially engaging. However, considering the vehicles intended mission, canyon-carving probably wasnt a high priority on the suspension engineers checklist. Getting back to the theme of sacrificing function for beauty, however, the 20-inch wheels deliver a ride firmness that hints at handling prowess that the suspension simply cant deliver. Taking a corner at anything more than a moderate pace elicits screeches and and howls from the tires. Appreciate the dubs for their style, but dont expect dramatic performance.
Although the Venza cuts an unmistakably dashing profile on the outside, the interior is a mixed bag. Theres nothing exceptionally objectionable about the styling or materials, but the interior does not have the same cohesiveness and elegance as the exterior. Theres an odd, indeterminate texture applied across much of the interior plastic that is an attempt at a woodgrain or faux leather, but succeeds at neither. A similar and more subdued texture is applied on the leather seats, and it works a little better, but still comes across as a bit contrived.
Ergonomically, the Venza is somewhat of an adjustment. When I first sat down and oriented myself with the controls, I looked around for a display readout for the air conditioning controls. Somewhat counterintuitively, the temperature and fan settings are displayed on a 3-inch-square LCD display in the middle of the dashboard, up high in a central unibrow area. Its not that jarring once you get used to it, but the placement seems like an afterthought.
Compared to its most logical peers, the Honda Crosstour, Nissan Murano, and Ford Edge, the Venza offers similar capabilities. Comparably equipped, the prices are pretty close, too. So what is there to recommend the Venza over its rivals? Well, if youre predisposed to think favorably of Toyota products, it has that going in its favor. Its the best-looking of the bunch, especially from a rear three-quarter angle. However, the interior has the oddest layout and materials.
Toyota often has mixed results when it tries to be too edgy, and the Venza is a rolling example. While the exterior is stylish and eye-catching, the interior is an odd mishmash of unique and parts-bin, premium and low-rent. If I were in the focus group for a mid-cycle refresh, I would suggest a revamp of the interior, using soft-touch, conventionally textured plastics, quality leathers, and contrast stitching. And perhaps some memory functions for the steering wheel adjustment and drivers seat.The danger in moving too upscale with the Venza is that it would quickly start stepping on the toes of its more patrician cousin, the Lexus RX, in both price and market positioning. Such is the peril when you also have a luxury brand in your portfolio.
As it stands, the Venza is a stylish alternative to the conventional midsize SUV, and would likely fit the needs of small (two or fewer children) families looking for day-to-day family transport. With some fine-tuning to the interior trim, it could be a great crossover instead of a good one.
